Tell us your origin story!
I grew up in Highlands Ranch but my mother worked for the airlines so we had the privilege of traveling a lot when I was little. I became obsessed with life underwater and decided in the 6th grade I would study marine biology in Hawaii.
What caused you to make the leap from amateur to dive professional?
After finishing school on Oahu, I moved to Kauai hoping to work with the Division of Aquatic Resources office. That job did not work out so I pivoted and got my PADI instructor in order to share my passion with people visiting the island. It is very rewarding to see people enjoying my passion for the first time and I am grateful I changed course to teach diving.
Favorite class to teach?
Either Peak Performance Buoyancy or Basic Open Water
Favorite dive destination?
I absolutely loved Nusa Penida, Indonesia and Saba in the Caribbean.
What is your most beloved critter to spot under the waves?
Cuttlefish or Nudibranch
What is your “must have” piece of dive equipment?
A noise maker - I hate when my buddy misses something cool because I couldn’t get their attention fast enough!
Favorite non-diving activity?
Probably reading - I finished 121 books for 2025!
Favorite post-dive treat or beverage?
Literally anything - diving always makes food taste better.
Any advice you’d like to offer divers new and old?
You will never know everything. Everyone has something to teach you so stay humble and stay vigilant with your safety checks.
